About

Our Story

Our story began with a profound personal loss that transformed our lives forever. The death of our beloved daughter, Morgan Rose, was a devastating event that left us searching for ways to cope and heal. In our journey through grief, we discovered the transformative power of psilocybin therapy and its potential to bring hope and healing to others facing similar struggles.

Driven by a desire to honor our daughter’s memory and help others, we decided to open a mental health clinic specializing in cutting edge treatments, including psilocybin therapy. Our clinic is dedicated to providing innovative and compassionate care to individuals seeking relief from mental health challenges.

Through our commitment to research and holistic care, we strive to advance the field of mental health awareness and innovative treatments such as psilocybin therapy and make a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve. Our clinic is a place of healing, growth, and transformation, where individuals can find support and guidance on their journey to mental wellness. By sharing our story, we hope to inspire others to seek help and find hope in the face of adversity.

About Our Center

Rose Healing Center is located in Lone Tree, Colorado, and is one of the first licensed psilocybin centers in the state. The space includes two dedicated psilocybin therapy rooms and one integration room, all housed within a medical complex shared with Rose NeuroSpa — our partnered mental health clinic. Some of our facilitators are clinicians from Rose NeuroSpa, while others are experienced, licensed facilitators from across Colorado. All hold active state licensure and bring a depth of clinical and therapeutic training to their work. Rose Healing Center provides the setting and support for this transformative process, while our facilitators accompany each participant with care, skill, and presence.

Meet Our Center Team

Brandon Sklar, MD

Medical Director & Psychedelic Lead

Brandon grew up in Denver and completed his residency training in psychiatry at University of Colorado School of Medicine.  He draws from his experience of caring for people using a wide variety of treatment modalities which include conventional psychiatric medications, innovative treatments such as TMS and ketamine, as well as psychotherapy. He has a passion for helping those struggling with treatment resistance and traumatic experiences. This ultimately led to an interest in psychedelic medicines. Brandon believes psychedelics hold significant promise for the alleviation of suffering in ways that other psychiatric treatments have been lacking.

John Tartz

Executive Director

John and his wife opened Rose NeuroSpa in 2022 with a passion for helping others and the goal to bring innovative and cutting-edge treatments to their local community. This passion grew from a family tragedy that occurred when they lost their middle daughter Morgan “Rose” to an overdose in 2017.   John and Karla are proud to offer traditional mental health treatments as well as cutting edge services such as personalized TMS (PrTMS), Spravato/Ketamine therapy and more. The clinic has been able to help hundreds of patients since opening two years ago and hopes to provide support and assistance to more through the launch of Rose Healing Center.

The Importance of Set and Setting

A participant’s mindset “set” and environment “setting” play a powerful role in shaping the psilocybin experience. “Set” is not just about entering the session with the right intentions — it’s also about doing the necessary preparatory work with a well-matched facilitator.

This relationship helps establish safety, clarity, and trust before the journey begins. Just as important is the setting itself: the physical space, sensory environment, and overall atmosphere in which the experience unfolds. At Rose Healing Center, every detail is intentionally considered to create a space that feels safe and supportive. When set and setting come into alignment, the inner journey is able to unfold with greater depth and meaning.

Setting: Explore Our Facilities

A sanctuary for honoring the past and tending the embers of healing

The Hearth room is designed to foster a sense of safety and groundedness. With earthy hues, a vibrant fireplace and an intimate, cave-like feel, it serves as a sanctuary for deep inner work, reflection, and the tender process of grieving and releasing. Here, participants are invited to honor the layers of ancestral wounds and connect with the wisdom of those who came before, finding solace and strength in the healing flame.

A gathering place for embracing change and nurturing the roots of transformation

The Cedarwood room embodies renewal and growth, offering a space for participants to embrace transformation. Bathed in deep greens and natural wood tones, the room captures the vibrant aliveness of the forest, inviting a sense of expansion and wonder. Here, participants can stretch beyond old patterns, welcome new insights, and plant the seeds for lasting change.

Our wounds are where the light enters.

The Sun Room is a bright and airy space designed for both preparation and integration. Natural light fills the room, creating a warm and welcoming environment that fosters trust and reflection. Here, participants can find clarity and support as they set intentions, process their experiences, and carry insights forward, illuminating the path ahead.

Set Your Intentions: Search for the Right Facilitator

The relationship between participant and facilitator is central to the healing process. Trust, comfort, and a sense of alignment can shape the depth and safety of the experience. At Rose Healing Center, we encourage participants to read through each facilitator’s bio to find someone who resonates — whether through shared background, therapeutic approach, or simply a feeling of connection. Our team includes a diverse group of licensed professionals with a wide range of styles, identities, and clinical expertise. If you’d like support with this process, our staff is happy to help provide guidance— because finding the right facilitator is a crucial first step.
