Facilitators

Our Clinic Facilitators

Rose Healing Center is unique because it is the only center whose facilitators hold active Colorado licenses in various health-related fields such as medicine, psychology, nursing, and social work. This allows licensed clinicians to offer services that extend beyond the psilocybin experience — supporting participants with physical or mental health care within the scope of their professional practice.

While facilitators can use a therapy room at our center, most preparation and integration sessions will be conducted at each facilitator’s private practice and the journeys are held at Rose Healing Center. While our facilitators bring diverse backgrounds and therapeutic styles, they are united by a shared commitment to safety, integrity, and reverence for this work. Collaboration is central to our approach, and our facilitators regularly consult with one another to ensure participants receive the most thoughtful, comprehensive care possible. We invite you to explore our facilitator bios to find a practitioner whose approach and values resonate with your needs.

This multidisciplinary approach ensures that our patients receive comprehensive care that addresses both their mental and physical health needs. By integrating various fields of expertise, we can offer a more holistic and effective treatment experience, tailored to each individual’s unique circumstances.the

Dr. Alisa Hannum, PhD

Licensed Clinical Facilitator | Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Hello and thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I’m Dr. Alisa Hannum, a licensed clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals and groups in their healing journeys. My work is grounded in compassion, connection, and a deep respect for the resilience of the human psyche.

I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from West Virginia University in 2010 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2012. For more than a decade, I served in the Veterans Administration, where I specialized in treating PTSD related to combat and military sexual trauma. I currently provide psychotherapy, ketamine assisted therapy, and psychedelic assisted therapy in my private practice.

In addition to my formal training, I’ve pursued extensive advanced education in a wide range of therapeutic approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and multiple psychedelic-assisted modalities. I am trained in MDMA-assisted therapy, ketamine-assisted therapy, and psilocybin-assisted therapy.

My approach to mushroom-assisted therapy is rooted in reverence—for the natural medicines themselves, for the indigenous stewards who have carried these healing traditions for generations, and for the profound psychological and spiritual potential this work can unlock. I believe in holding this work within a ceremonial container that honors preparation, courage, and integration. It is a process that requires time, intention, and care.

I work primarily with individuals who are seeking deep, meaningful change—especially those carrying trauma. My goal is to provide a safe, respectful, and skillfully held space where true transformation can unfold.

Licensed Clinical Natural Medicine Facilitator | LCSW, CEDS

Hello, I’m a licensed mental health clinician with nearly two decades of experience supporting individuals through emotional, relational, and psychological challenges. At the heart of my work is the belief that each of us carries an innate inner wisdom—a compassionate, guiding presence that can feel distant when various challenges overwhelm us. I help clients reconnect with that wisdom and develop deeper trust in themselves and in the natural unfolding of their lives.

As both a clinician and a mother, I bring warmth, curiosity, and deep respect for the human experience to this work. I believe healing happens in relationship— one that emphasizes emotional safety, containment, and care while also supporting growth, resilience, and self-agency with space to slow down, feel held, and gently reconnect with one’s inner guidance.

I have extensive experience in private practice and depth-oriented therapeutic work. My work is centered on supporting individuals who are seeking meaning, connection, and an integrated relationship—with themselves, with others, with the earth, and with the divine.

Many people I work with find themselves in seasons of disconnection, transition, or spiritual questioning, while others come with a sense of curiosity and longing to deepen their relationships with self, others and their spirituality. I support individuals living with depression, anxiety, and existential distress, as well as those seeking greater emotional balance and self-trust. I am also a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS), supporting individuals navigating complex relationships with food, body image, and self-worth.

My approach is trauma-informed and grounded in somatic, body-based practices, nervous system regulation and EMDR.

My approach to this work—and to therapy more broadly—is grounded in safety, intention, knowledge that healing already lives within. During medicine sessions, my role is not to direct the journey, but to offer a calm, grounding presence and gentle companionship and to walk alongside clients as they learn to listen more closely and trust that the journey unfolds exactly as it is meant to.

I view struggle not as something to eliminate, but as an invitation into growth, awareness, and transformation. When held with care, even painful experiences can become sources of wisdom and depth.

I believe that healing oneself contributes to healing the collective, and that individual healing has a ripple effect—subtly shaping families, relationships, communities, and the larger world.

Brandon Sklar, MD

Licensed Clinical Facilitator/Psychiatrist

Licensed Psychiatrist // Licensed Clinical Facilitator

I am a mental health professional, and mental health patient, who is guided by my reverence for the ways psilocybin can transform the human spirit. I want to provide this medicine for others to experience with intention and safety, deeply recognizing both the potential and risks that come with this work.

I earned an MD degree from the University of Colorado in 2019 and subsequently completed my psychiatry residency also at CU in 2023. During those years, I worked in a variety of mental health settings including inpatient units, emergency rooms, addiction facilities, and outpatient clinics. Over time, I became less and less convinced that the drugs I was prescribing were adequately treating the suffering patients were enduring.

For the past year, my clinical practice has focused on ketamine, deprescribing, and psychotherapy. I received additional training at Elemental Psychedelics and my natural medicine license in 2025.

My approach is rooted in non-Western traditions that view human suffering as something that must be confronted rather than avoided as well as psychoanalytic theory which understands that humans harbor wounding in their unconscious. I believe psilocybin can bring forth parts of the mind that have been traumatized to allow for them to be integrated into the rest of the Self.

I work primarily with individuals who have engaged in longitudinal therapy, and I approach psilocybin work with an expectation that this process may take many months to complete. As a musician, I also place enormous emphasis on how music shapes the psilocybin journey, and I work best with those who use music as a means of emotional expression.

Journey + one integration session: $750-$3000+, depending on financial resources

Additional Integration sessions: $150 per session (minimum of 1 required)

Valerie Cattany, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Natural Medicine Facilitator

Hello and welcome; so glad you are here. I’m Valerie Cattany, and as a
licensed clinical social worker, I help individuals reconnect to their
authentic selves. My approach is centered around enhancing resilience,
presence, and vitality. I bring experience and a genuine openness for
collaboration with each person, creating a unique and safe space for
healing.

I’m dedicated to helping individuals heal from trauma, work through
life transitions, and cope with grief and loss. My approach integrates
Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal
Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness practices, and a range of talk
therapies—each thoughtfully tailored to support meaningful change
and forward movement. My experience also includes supporting
individuals living with cancer, and those receiving hospice services for
compassionate end-of-life care.

In addition to being trained in psilocybin-assisted therapy, I’m also trained in MDMA-assisted therapy, and ketamine-assisted therapy.

My approach to mushroom (psilocybin) assisted therapy centers on
building a safe, and collaboratively creative space that honors
ceremony, appreciation for the plant medicine, while also inviting a
personal sense of the sacred. At the heart of this process is attention to
developing an environment of trust and harmony. Allowing for the
unfolding of inner wisdom that longs to rise.

Along with intentional integration after the journey to process the
experience, embody its insights, and encourage meaningful, and lasting
transformation.

It’s an honor to work with individuals desiring a deep and heartfelt
experience that empowers growth and forward movement on life’s
unfolding path.

Licensed Natural Medicine Facilitator

Licensed Clinical Facilitator

I feel deeply honored to support others on their journey with psilocybin. This work brings together two threads that have shaped my life: a respect for scientific inquiry and a reverence for the mysteries of human experience. While I draw on research and evidence to guide my practice, I also welcome the spiritual and transformative dimensions that often emerge in these sessions. My own path is informed by Buddhist philosophy, especially its emphasis on awareness, compassion, and letting go. I strive to offer a space that is both grounded and expansive, where insight and healing can unfold naturally.

My academic background spans the humanities and social sciences, with undergraduate degrees in English, Philosophy, Spanish, and International Studies, and a master’s in International Relations. I’ve worked in public health for nearly two decades, with a focus on behavioral health and health behavior change since 2012. I’m a certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist (NCNTT) and a certified psychedelic coach through the Psychedelic Coaching Institute. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Motivational Interviewing, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and mindfulness. My work is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and a commitment to helping others live with greater freedom and clarity.

I do not position myself as a healer but as a grounded, compassionate presence holding a physically safe and emotionally steady container for your journey. Healing is ultimately your own work—the medicine serves as a powerful catalyst, enabling access to deeper parts of yourself and transformation. My role is to support you with gentle reassurance, affirming you are navigating the process as it unfolds, that discomfort is often temporary, and that all experiences—whether symbolic, revelatory, or seemingly nonsensical—deserve attention. I also enjoy helping you translate insights and revelations into meaningful, lasting changes in daily life. I am here to answer questions, encourage re-engagement when needed, and help you stay attuned to your evolving insight with care and respect.

Benjamin Dancer

Licensed Nautral Medicine Facilitator

Thank you for taking some time to learn about me as you prepare for your journey. What I think you should know about me is that I do this work in service of my mission: to co-create a culture in which people are more connected to themselves, each other and the natural world.
The state of Colorado recognizes me as a legacy healer. What this means is that I helped to pioneer the psychedelic model we are using today, and I was one of the first practitioners in the state to be licensed to facilitate psilocybin journeys.  I’m also a life coach, offering a powerful set of somatic tools that teach people how to harness their biology in order to achieve their goals. I help men build healthy, meaningful relationships—and I have a passion, inspired by the romance of my marriage, for working with couples, helping people become the lovers and parents they want to be. Another way to say all this is that I help people live fully connected to themselves.
By shining the light of compassionate awareness on our inner world, I believe we can expand the possibilities of transformation. That’s how I think of preparation. Then we take the journey. The medicine tends to open the client in unexpected and profound ways. I’ve come to understand that my regulated nervous system helps to create a safe container for the client to experience themselves more completely, gain life-changing insight or release stuck energy. After the journey, we enter the most important aspect of the process: the growing ability to integrate the experience, explore the insights or to harness the newly discovered energy so that the client can carry on with the adventure. I feel most satisfied when my clients have learned the skills to continue to get what they came for long after our work together is complete.

Preparation sessions: $150 per session (minimum of 3 required)

Journey: $1,800

Integration sessions: $150 per session after the first integration session, which is free

Licensed Natural Medicine Facilitator

My personal experiences with psilocybin have created a deeply respectful relationship with psychedelics as a healing tool for those with treatment-resistant issues. I approach each client with curiosity and attentiveness to their perceptions and experiences, creating a partnership aimed at healing and growth.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 18+ years of experience treating active duty, veterans, and first responders. It is foundational to my practice to help those who put themselves in harm’s way in the protection of others. I also have extensive experience as a play therapist with neurodivergent populations and a decade of work as a state-approved domestic violence treatment provider. This work has provided me with a lens to identify symptoms of trauma at all ages and stages of development. I have experience with somatic and sensory work that applies to the use of psilocybin as a means of healing deep and unidentified preverbal traumas.

I take a comprehensive approach to natural medicine treatment, integrating intergenerationally (family) transmitted traumas, music therapy in support of the journey, and somatic interventions to address all of the client’s parts and experiences. Natural medicine work is a sacred duty on the part of the facilitator, and I have tremendous respect for the medicine and the ancient cultural traditions that have sprung from it.

Licensed Clinical Natural Medicine Facilitator | MA, LPC

My journey into this work grew out of deeply meaningful experiences with psilocybin in my own healing process. Those experiences shaped my respect for the medicine and clarified my desire to support others in engaging this work with care and intention. I draw from my clinical training, lived experience, and intuition in my work with psilocybin therapy. I approach this work with deep respect for relationship, the land, ancestral wisdom, and the medicine itself.

I come from a trauma-focused background and primarily work with people who are seeking to reconnect with a sense of safety, agency, and meaning in their lives. I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling and Human Services from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in 2009.
